Join us for our series of workshops during DesignPhiladelphia on sustainable leadership, designing futures, and a social to connect with peers…by design.
3:30-5:00pm Workshop #1: Sustainable Leadership*
5:30-7:00pm Workshop #2: Designing Futures: Designing for Uncertainty*
7:00-8:30pm Social Hour: Decompress by Design
Each workshop will be hosted at the CFI Workspace - Philadelphia Showroom and intended for 15-20 attendees, 2-3 facilitators with the ability to break out in small groups. Thirty-minute transition times are included between workshops one and two to pause or for phone calls, email, etc.

ABOUT FACILITATORS
Vanessa Xie
Vanessa Xie is a versatile and passionate Design Researcher with a diverse career background in sales, design, research, and hospitality. Exploring the intersection of technology, design, human behavior, and experiences is a special interest of hers. She received her Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Penn State University and her Masters Degree in Design Research from Drexel University. Her master’s thesis project focuses on the process of engaging with emerging technologies in blockchain, which was published in Dezeen. Philadelphia is where she calls home and outside of work, you can find her training with her dragon boat team, trying a new recipe, and hanging with her pups.
Erike De Veyra, Assoc. AIA, SEED
Erike is a designer, project manager, and founder of Design Gym, where they demystify design to designers of all ages and levels through tools, activities, workshops, experiences, and providing expertise to increase access and representation in the design industry. Erike uses her training in architecture to design and develop initiatives, public programs, and experiences for clients and the design curious.
Erike serves on Jefferson’s College of Architecture & the Built Environment Advancement (CABE) Council and was honored in the inaugural cohort of Philly Girls Do Good—recognizing and celebrating women leaders in design and community development. In the fall of 2017, through the Public Interest Design Institute, became a Social Economic Environmental Design (SEED) Certified Professional, and previously served on the Board of Directors for the AIA Philadelphia Chapter and the Center of DesignPhiladelphia. Erike has a Bachelor of Architecture and MS in Design Thinking & Entrepreneurship, with over 20 years of experience managing projects and initiatives.
